The mission of the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) is to increase food security and reduce hunger in partnership with cooperating organizations by providing children and low-income people with access to food, a healthy diet, and nutrition education in a manner that supports American agriculture and inspires public confidence.
· This position is for the Assistant to the Director in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Program Accountability and Administration Division. The Division is responsible for monitoring and measuring program performance, to continually identify innovative and more effective ways to reduce improper payments and improve the integrity of the nation’s primary food assistance safety net that currently serves over 46 million Americans. As a member of the management team, this position will offer challenging growth opportunities and focus on collaborative projects, often national in scope, that cross organization lines. Candidates will need to possess excellent communication skills, organization, and demonstrate a strong ability to lead and manage projects in order to perform successfully in this position.
