In addition to the basic requirements you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 11 level that demonstrated professional and/or thorough knowledge of and/or skill in applying: Methods and principles of economics and their application to research projects; Developing, analyzing, and presenting statistical information, recognizing and adopting new techniques to fit the needs of research projects. To be qualifying, your experience must be sufficient to demonstrate the ability to perform a variety of assignments on a research projects or programs where economic and statistical methodology were used to define, profile and evaluate market segments of taxpayers; Knowledge of user-oriented computer programming languages and statistical software packages; and skill in carrying out special assignments which need extreme precision in carrying out program assignments and resolving critical problems.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL GRADES:

Four (4) year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus. OR A. 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus. B. A combination of education and experience. The education must include courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. To be qualifying your experience may have included the following or must be sufficient demonstrate the ability to perform the following:

  • Individual economic research assignments requiring planning, information assembly, analysis and evaluation, conclusions and report preparation.
  • Supervisory or project coordination assignments involving a staff of professional economists, and requiring the evaluation and interpretation of economic information. OR
