You changed all the applicant statuses including those applicants who didn’t meet specialized experience. A few minutes later you receive a phone call from an irate CPS veteran applicant who is questioning why you think they aren’t qualified. The applicant is threatening to go to EEO, OPM, or another “higher body” to review your decision.

  5. While on the phone with the applicant, I was able to calmly pull up my qualification notes and walk the applicant through why he/she did not meet the minimum qualifications. My notes were specific enough that I did not have trouble justifying my decision. Although still upset, the applicant was no longer irate and threatening to pursue a complaint.
